MSP430FR5043: MSP430FR5043

Part Number: MSP430FR5043
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EVM430-FR6047, EVM430-FR6043

Hi
MSP430FR5043 Sch 040124.pdf

Our appliation is: Clipon water measurement.
I am working with Ido from Aquasmart (You are in connection with him)
Acording to your recomendation we would like to use TI P"N:MSP430FR5043
Our Schamatic consist on TI ref Des EVM430-FR6043 , (In our lab we use EVM430-FR6047)
We have on our board our CPU. Connection with the MSP430FR5043 will be with :UART/I2C Hw ready for both IF.
1: I dont understand how I shell connect MTIF_OUR_IN/MTIF_PIN_EN? Do I need them?
2: Do I need any power Sw : TxPwr/Tx5VeN (The power to the device will be directly connected to our battary. 2.2-3.6V)
We would like to read the flow once for a minute by changing the work mode of the device . Do you see any requirment for ext power Sw?
3: How shell I connect XPB0 Pin?
4:Do you recommend to connect DVCC & AVCC togather and PVCC by 22hom?
5: It will be halpfull to get you input to our SCH. How can we get your input?
6: Quatation? Who is TI representative In Israel Please make an introduction between Us: My mail is avraham@aquasmart.ai

Thanks

  • Hi Avraham,

    1) You can read about the MTIF module in section 23 of the device family user's guide. In our reference design, the MTIF pins are connected to headers for usage if necessary, but they aren't critical to the function of the device. It is up to you to determine whether to utilize them.

    2) I wouldn't say I see an express need for a power switch. A power switch can often help when you are debugging your design, and if you see a need to manually change the power source. The pins you mentioned there are the enable pins for the load switches and a boost converter. These are sourced from the MCU. I am not sure if you mean that you want to connect a power switch to these but I would not recommend this. If you wanted to use a power switch, I would encourage you to implement it similarly to the one in our reference design, linked above. Please let me know if I have understood your question correctly.

    3) XPB0 is used as a signal to bias external analog signals. In our reference design, this pin is disconnected from the circuit. It is up to you whether you determine this necessary for your design. Please see section 21.3.4 for information on XPB0, and all of section 21 for more information on the device's SAPH module.

    4) We do not recommend this. Please see section 8 of the datasheet for the recommended operating conditions of the device, and section 10.1 for device connection and layout recommendations.

    5) You can submit your schematic to msp-sbd-review@list.ti.com for review by the team.

    6) I have just contacted our representative in your area, they should reach out to you soon. Feel free to comment again here if there are any issues.
