MSP430G2452: Unable to connect to the MSP430G2452 using CCS and MSP-FET 430UIF

Part Number: MSP430G2452
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET

Hi everyone!

I'm using a MSP430G2452, CCS and MSP-FET 430UIF in a project, but I'm no longer able to flash it.

In January I made some updates to the software and didn't touch it for a little over a month, jus using what I had done. However, this week I needed to make some updates to the software, but I was no longer able to access the msp to flash it.

I've already changed the programmer, the msp, the usb cable, the flat cable, but nothing helped. The following message continues to appear: "Error connecting to the target: Unknown device".

Below is the msp schematic.

Would anyone have an idea of what it could be, please?

  • Hi Marco,

Does the CCS keep the same version and not updated? If changed, please use the same version and take a try.

Which protocol you are using, I assume it is SBW.

Also, Please see the note for the SBW circuit setting in the user guide: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slau278ah/slau278ah.pdf

I suggest you cantake a try with a new board (you can also use the old project to try, make sure the board can be connected, and then do the test), in case this board is broken.

    B.R.

    Sal
