MSP430FR2475: which crystal used for test?

Hi

May I have question about MSP430 MFCLK test condition?

I want to know which crystal used for  8.12.3.2 DCO FLL, Frequency test?

I find suggested crystal in this document, but I can not find which used for DS test.

MSP430 32-kHz Crystal Oscillators (Rev. D)

Thanks,

  • Hi GR

Yes. The MSP430 32-kHz Crystal Oscillators (Rev. D) is the correct document on 32KHz crystal selection.

Please check 2 Crystal Selection chaptor and Table 3. Safety Factor Test Results on this document

I think anyone part number on this table should be OK.

or another part number and vendors following the 2 Crystal Selection chaptor should be OK

    Thanks

  • Hi Li,

    Thanks for your information.

I would like to know the error condition of external crystal where the error of MFCLK is ±0.5% maximum.
Is it correct to recognize the error of ±0.5% maximum with 30ppm precision crystal which is presented in the common crystal of "32 kHz crystal oscillator (Rev. D)"?

    Best regards,

    GR

  • Hi GD

±0.5% error is FLL based on the external crystal.

30ppm error on crystal (room temperature) which is 3/100000 is much smaller than 0.5%.

I think the error from crystal has been included inside of ±0.5%

    Thanks

  • Hi LI

    Thanks for your information.

    I understand it.

    Best regards,

    GR
