MSP430FR6989: Pin configuration of PJ.5/LFXOUT when configured for bypass mode with external 32kHz clock

Part Number: MSP430FR6989

Hi team,

What do I need to do with the Pin PJ.5/LFXOUT when using the LFXT bypass mode especially in an battery operated application to avoid leakage current?

Do I need an external pull-up / pull-down or can the pin be left floating?

As far as I understand it, the Pin PJ.5/LFXOUT is configured as an GPIO when using the bypass mode.

Therefore, following this comment from the TRM the pin PJ.5/LFXOUT should be left unconnected and then either be as an output or as an input with an pull-up / pull-down.

Is that correct or do I need an external pull-up / pull-down?

Thanks,

Marinus
