MSP430FR6043: Improving Signal Envelope Clarity for MSP430FR6043 Water Flow Measurements

Part Number: MSP430FR6043

Tool/software:

I am using MSP430FR6043 to measure water flow using an 8mm diameter tube.

I captured images of signals when there is no flow.

I expected the peak to be in the middle of the received signal. but I can see a peak at the front of the received signal.
I'm unsure if my measured signal is normal.

Additionally, I can see that the 6th pulse is a peak in the left image, and the 5th pulse is a peak in the right image. This seems to cause variation in Delta TOF.
How can I make the received signal look like a clean envelope signal?

  • Hi,

The ADC capture looks acceptable from my side. How about the the dTOF and absTOF result in the waveform page with this configuration? You can try with set the Envelope crossing threshold to 25.

The ADC capture is not the actual receive signal due to low the ADC sampling rate. So, it is possible that the ADC capture data looks a little wired in some condition. In your case, I do not think this "bad" ADC capture will affect the dTOF and absTOF calculation.

    Best regards,

    Cash Hao
