Hello E2E Experts,

Could you provide me with the gas flow sensing firmware for the EVM430-FR6047 development kit?
I've found the water flow meter firmware for the EVM430-FR6047 and the gas flow sensing firmware for the EVM430-FR6043, but I can't locate the gas flow sensing firmware specifically for the EVM430-FR6047.

    Hi,

    The FR6047 does not support gas meter application. So, there is no firmware for FR6047 as gas meter application.

    Good day.

    I have some budget constraints, so I need to answer my manager. EVM430-FR6047 is the updated version of EVM430-FR6043. So, what stops us from using it(EVM430-FR6047) for gas sensing?
    Additionally, would it be feasible to simply change the MCU? Right now, we’re working with a prototype, but once it passes, we expect to place bulk orders over the next two years. Any insights into the cost-benefit of this switch would be appreciated.

    Hi,

    The MSP430FR6043 is the updated version for MSP430FR6047 on the ultrasonic sensing. FR6043 integrated USS_A module which supports single tone and multi tone excitation signal. This new feature is important for gas meter sensing compare to water meter sensing. 
    Change the MCU on the EVM430-FR6047 board for gas meter sensing? No, it is not possible. FR6043 and FR6047 are not p2p. And it also requires external circuit for gas meter sensing.
