MSP-EXP430G2 LaunchPad programing and debbuging

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430G2553

Hi,

Can I use MSP-EXP430G2 LaunchPad for programing and debbuging MSP430G2553 in package TSSOP (MSP430G2553IPW20R) ?

How is different between  MSP430G2553IPW20R  and  MSP430G2553IPW20 ?

Thanks.

  • Hi!

As far as I know, the Launchpad socket is for DIP.

To insert a TSSOP, you will need to use an expansion board to fit the pin of the Launchpad. If this board is well done, I do not think there is a problem. But if you can, ask for some 2553 DIP for free at TI website! :)

I think the "R" at the end of the name means they provide them in "reel" which is a stripe of several chips :)

    Have a nice day!

  • If I solder the wires to SBW (Spy-Bi-Ware), it will work ?

Don't forget GND and VCC :) (and it is 'Spy by Wire')
