Hi,

I'm having a issue getting the Fram Graphical User Interface (GUI) on my pc. I've downloaded and unzip the file Slac492b  but all a get when double clicking on the internal files Fram_GUI and Fram_GUI_source, is a brief cmd console then it disappears. The Error message I get is "can not find CallingShellExecute()".  Is there something I'm missing or what do I need to do to get this pc GUI operational.

Please help,

John DuBose

  • Did you try to run it as administrator?

You can try to build it (It is Processing so it should be very easy) from source: http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slac492

  • Hi MaciejKucia,

Yes, I tried running  slac492b as a admin and it opens up with lots of unknown character's (@##$%*&#@). It doesn't build at all. It's not C/C++. There is one intelligent statement and that's "this will not run in cmd"? This statement is located at the top right side of the file. I'm still not able to use the pc to view this GUI. Do you have any other info regarding this issue?

    Regards,

    John

  • Are you sure you are referring to the files from my link? My link points to source code. The GUI is made in http://processing.org/

  • Hi MaciejKucia,

I downloaded your link to the zip file Slac492b and extracted and imported it to CCSv5, build it then opened it to only see the unintelligible characters (@!#$%^^&*(*) like this.

I going to look at the link that you recommended where this GUI was developed. http://processing.org/. However I haven't found the source code yet.

    Regards

    John

  • Sorry but I do not understand source of your problems. CCS? You cannot build GUI with CCS !?

    What works for me:

    1. Downloaded http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slac492
    2. Unpacked
    3. Opened [...]\FRAM_GUI\FRAM_GUI.pde in Processing
    4. Clicked run in Processing

The GUI works perfectly fine for me. Some errors are visible in Processing console though (java.lang.NullPointerException).

Sorry I could not help further.

    Regards,
    Maciej
