Hello everybody,
We are about to upgrade to the MSP-Gang programmer to program our modules and we would like to block the programmers keypad.
We use the provided DLL to generate an image in the programmer and then be able to program the modules without PC just pushing the "GO" button. This system is fast and easy but we are aware of unwanted operator button pushes while doing this process that may corrupt the image. This is why we would like to block the programmers keypad except for the "Go" button.
We have gone through the DLL specification sheet but we found nothing that could help. ¿Any ideas?
Thank you all in advance.
Josu
Hi Josu,
When using the MSP-GANG in stand-alone mode (no PC connection), the buttons are active. If the operator presses GO to begin the programming operation, the other buttons should be inactive until the programming operation is finished, so it would not interrupt the programming process. Is this what you are concerned about happening? Outside of an ongoing programming process, the buttons will be active, but this should not be able to "corrupt" the actual image - the buttons just provide access to options like screen contrast, etc. You can also select which image is going to be programmed in using the buttons, but if you only have one image loaded into the MSP-GANG then this isn't really a risk as there are no other image options in that case.
Are there still concerns? At some point there could always be some form of operator error (unplugging the power supply too early while it's still programming for example), but I think that errant button pushes are not likely to cause you much issue.
Regards,
Katie
