MSP430FR2433: BSL18 to be fixed in next rev?

Part Number: MSP430FR2433

Team,

We are working with a company that needs I2C bsl functionality, and are severely GPIO limited from the host processor. According to BSL18 a blank reset vector will not trigger the BSL. Questions:

1. When will this bug be fixed? It is present in silicon rev A.

2. If it will be fixed, what is the ETA?

3. If it will not be fixed, what other device can we work with that supports I2C BSL, 16k FRAM or similar?

Thank you!

  • Hi,

I'm reaching out internally to some contacts regarding next revisions of this part. I'll let you know what I hear.

Unfortunately, there aren't any good alternatives that aren't affected by BSL18. I understand the customer has limited GPIO on the host processor so using the RST and TEST pin workaround isn't an option. However, if the part is already programmed you could invoke the BSL via the main application. Is this a possible option?

    Best regards,
