MSP-EXP430F5529LP: DAC124S085EVM and Windows 10

Part Number: MSP-EXP430F5529LP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSPDS

Is there a different driver to use with the MSP430 Launchpad and the DAC124S085EVM and Windows 10?

I was able to update the firmware on the Launchpad, but I am not able to install the driver as suggested in Step 2.3 of the user's guide.  The device does not show up in the device manager as other and forcing it manually I was blocked because the driver is not signed.

I'm at a bit of loss as to the next steps to get this module established on my system.

Is there a workaround to get the MSP Launchpad recognized under Windows 10?

  • You can disable driver signature verification on 64-bit Windows 10, making it possible to install unsigned drivers manually. Several online resources provide the steps necessary to accomplish this.

  • Hello Jeridiah,

Please make sure that you have fully updated your CCS or IAR install, as it will include the newest USB Drivers for MSP430 LPs. Alternatively, you can try the standalone USB Drivers Install Package found at www.ti.com/lit/mspds .
