MSP430F1121: Recommendation for upgraded BSL programmer

Could he also use the G2 Launchpad and a G2231 or G2452 as a BSL programming tool, all as described in SLAA535A?  As you say, he would be running BSLDEMO2.exe on the PC to do that for this part.

Also, I have a version of BSLDEMO2 that works with a CP2102 USB-to-Serial adapter module, which would probably be the least expensive option.

Is it official now that the Rocket is no longer available?  I hadn't heard that.  But I see that Mouser lists it as obsolete, with no stock on hand.  Digikey doesn't list it at all.  But Olimex appears to offer it for 10 Euros.  I assume TI doesn't sell it.

Ideally I would have liked to try the Rocket, but as you mentioned George, I also could not find it available locally.

It may be difficult to put through the purchasing department, and the shipping may be more expensive than the part itself so a local option would be better.
Also will it be going obsolete anytime soon? I would rather not use another product that will be unavailable sometime in the near future.
Another question, will George's recommendation of using the G2 Launchpad and G2231 or G2452 work? The documentation does not list MSP430F1121 as tested with this solution.

Nicole, are you dealing with the original F1121 or the "A" version?  I think the original requires doing something with "patch.txt" when using BSLDEMO2.  Not sure how that works.

I would appreciate it if you would post here with the results of your MSPG2 Launchpad experiment.

And I would reiterate that I think you can use pretty much any USB-to-Serial adapter module - FTDI, CP2102 or CH340 - with BSLDEMO2, with the relevant driver, but I think you would need my unofficial version of BSLDEMO2 to make that work (to fix the polarity of DTR or RTS).  Here's the link in case you want to try that:
