MSP430F6659: invoke MSP

Part Number: MSP430F6659

Hi,

I am working with a unit that have th MSP430.

I got with the unit an INVOKE file to open before opening the SW of the MSP (to burn the code).

As I understand (and i do not understand much...) in order to burn the code to the MSP , teh INVOKE file take the MSP in the device manager from the PORT list (PID=0300) to the HID list (PID=0200).

My problem is that after I click on the invoke file  - I still see the MSP in the PORT list in the device manager, and I must unplug the USB from the PC and plug it again, in order to see the device under the HID list , to be able to burn the code.

Are you familiar with such a case ? do you have any suggestion why it is happen and how to solve it ?

Regards,

Shalom Cohen

  • Hello Shalom,

I assume here you are trying to use the USB BSL on this device in order to update the MSP430. I am unsure about this "INVOKE" file you speak of as something of that nature is not provided by TI. I would suggest reviewing the following application note for more information on how to use the USB BSL to update your device. Please take note that Section 5 is out of date as we have moved to a Python based GUI for the FW Upgrader Tool. this can be found within the MSPUSBDEVPACK ( www.ti.com/.../MSP430USBDEVPACK )
