MSP430FR5729: Best alternative for my application ?

Hi there, 

Would need your guidance here: 

I am considering the MSP430FR5729IRHAT in a new project. Is this still a good alternative or do you suggest something else?

Requirements:

  • Two Timers with PWM outputs (PWM frequency 50 kHz).
  • Two SPI interfaces (one slave, one Master).
  • About 10 GPIO pins (few with interrupt capability).
  • Support for 3.3 V supply voltage.
  • Frequency > 8 MHz.
  • Internal crystal preferred.
  • Flash memory at least 16kB (FRAM preferred), some SRAM.

Possibly a 2 channel ADC, 8 bits minimum.

    Hi Kenka,

    It looks like the MSP430FR5729 device is an 8MHz device. If you plan on running your application at 8MHz you should be ok, but you won't have any headroom. It looks like you want something that runs > 8MHz from your requirements list.

    There are a lot of devices that meet your requirements listed above, so I'm hoping you could help me narrow things down a bit.
    1. Is price a concern?
    2. Is there a size requirement/preference?
    3. Could you tell me a bit about your application? Does your system require any op amps? If so, you might be interested in the MSP430FR2355 device. This device has a "Smart Analog Combo" peripheral - which means it has 4 configurable op amps integrated in the device.
