Part Number: MSP432P401R
Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
Can not connect to CCS Please see word. hope you can give me some advices
Error connecting to the target:
(Error -1170 @ 0x0)
Unable to access the DAP. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK).
(Emulation package 8.4.0.00006)
No connection possible. This could be caused by the device having gone to low power mode and disabling JTAG PINs.
You have the option to either toggle reset or try to use SWD instead.

Hi,
to me this looks like the launchpad is damaged because with the "TEST CONNECTION" feature in CCS you also do not get a JTAG ID.
This should not related to disabled JTAG pins. Did you somehow connected the 5V supply to any 3.3V GPIO?
Did you handled the launchpad according the ESD guidelines?
Is it possible that you measure the current consumption of the P401R device with multimeter to confirm the theory?
can you help me to confirm that MSP-EXP432P401R is bad?
please see word Unergy MSP432 can't connect CCS May I connect CPU432 With XDS110?.docx

Hi,
yes you can bypass the onboard XDS110 probe by removing the jumpers and connect a different separate XDS110 probe to the dedicated pins. Take care that you do not mix signals when you connect it!
Again please perform a current measurement to get an idea if the target device is damaged or not.
The best is to use the simple LED blinking example first to check if something is wrong on your setup.
The other question is if you do somehow activate the JTAG lock features?
Hi,
any update on this case or anything we can do? If not I will close this thread by end of the week.
