MSP430FR5969-SP: Need confirmation of communication module usage

Part Number: MSP430FR5969-SP

Hi experts!

My customer has the following questions. Can someone confirm what is possible, or the potential limitations?

Need a quick clarification:  On the space grade MSP430FR5969-SP microcontroller, the block diagram shows 3 comm modules, where two support UART, SPI, and IrDA (eUSCI_A0 and A1), and the third supports SPI and I2C (eUSCI_B0).  Just need to know if I can assign 1 module for UART, and the other two for SPI or SPI/I2C?  Is there any clocking or data rate limitations when assigning the first two modules to different interface formats?

The block diagram shows eUSCI_A0 and eUSCI_A1 overlapped as if there are ties between the two, and I need to operate them as completely independent as possible.

Thanks for your help!

Best regards,

Jim B

My understanding is that eUSCI_A0 and eUSCI_A1 are two independent instances of the same type of module. The "overlap" on the block diagram is just to show when there is more than one instance of the same type of module in the device. Looking at the pinout eUSCI_A0, eUSCI_A1 and eUSCI_B0 don't share any pins, so all communication modules can be in use at once.
