MSP-GANG failed "verify" step on MSP432

I have tried to program a MSP432 with MSP-GANG. The previous steps can success, while the "Verify" step fails, showing "ERROR 58: Verification Error". According to MSP-GANG manual, I compare code file and flash data. There are two regions which have differences, 0x00005CE0~0x00007FF0 and 0x00025800~0x00027FF0. I debug the code with XDS100 V3, and check the disassembly window.

I don't think my code will modify the contents in these two regions. Additionally, I checked the binary code in debug mode in these two regions, and they are the same with the code file. How can I figure out why?Thank you!

Hello,

When checking the in debug mode, are you allowing the device to run first?

Are you certain that nothing in flash is being modified by the firmware?

What are the differences you are observing?

You may want to try stepping through your your code to see if FLASH is being modified anywhere.

Alternatively, if you have CCS, you can set up a break point that will trigger at the memory addresses in questions to see when they are being modified.

Hi, Cameron,

In debug mode, I do allow the device to run, and no modification can be observed in FLASH.

By the way, after I debug the device every time, the "Compare Code File and Flash Data" result will be different from the previous one. Here are three results:

The addresses with differences between the code file and flash data are different in these three result files.

Can you try set up a break point to identify the code that is causing the changes?

Sorry for the delay. I have tried to set up breakpoints at these addresses in that three files. But no changes can be observed. Or is there a kind of breakpoint in CCS that will be triggered when the data ,where the breakpoint has been set up, is changed ? I haven't figured out that.

Hi,
I have not solved the problem. I have tried to set up "memory write" breakpoints at the addresses where the data would be changed, but when no pause can be observed in the debug mode.
I have recently been busy with other things, and I'm late to response. Are there any other methods to be tried?

Does the data always change in the same way?

Do you have some kind of optimization turned on that might be rearranging the code?
