DRV8842EVM: Driver software cannot detect labview runtime engine

Hi, Im having issues with the DRV8842EVM driver software not being able to detect a labview runtime engine on my stsem, however I have the 2014 engine installed.

I have tried moving the runtime into the same folder as the driver application, and moving both to desktop. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both, each after another, and run out of ideas

Has anyone experienced this before?

The E2E thread linked above has a similar issue to yours. It was resolved by downloading the right version of LabView runtime. There is a link in this thread to download the right labview runtime. Can you install this runtime version and see if works now.

Hi, I have already tried both 2014 and 2014 SP1, and neither of them fixed the problem

Got it. Are you seeing any error messages? what exactly occurs when you attempt to connect EVM to GUI?

Hi Douglas,

It looks like it is not able to locate the runtime even though you have installed the correct version of labview runtime. The explanation that I can think of is either the runtime was not installed properly to your computer or it is somehow blocked from running by your computer. I suggest trying to install on your personal PC, if you are using your companies computer (in some cases your company IT may block certain apps from running). If this works, it gives more credibility that the runtime is not running on your current computer.
