Hello to TI support team ,

I use bq2084 EVSW with EV-2300 to read SMBus Battery data with bq2084 ,

1. Why bq2084 EVSW doesn't work properly with EV-2400 ?

2. Is there bq2084 EVSW for 64 bit ?

Hello Alex,

The EV2300 and BQ2084 EVSW is no longer maintained, the gauge is kept in production to maintain legacy builds.

There is not an updated BQ2084 EVSW that I am aware of.

Hello Alex,

bq2084 is a very old device. EVSW was developed at that time for the latest Operating system prevalent at that time. The EV2300 hardware has issues working with Windows 7 and 64 bit systems.

EV2400 was developed much later. EV2400 is not supported because of the different timelines.

The bq2084 EVSW works on 64 bit systems. It may need to be run as administrator. However the EV2300 will usually not work. There are 3rd party solutions available to replace the EV2300 and work with 64 bit systems. These usually need some kind of software update that is available from the 3rd party.
