UCC3817A: 400Hz operation 120W

There are some reference designs which are published for avionics but using UCC28064. Below are the references:

There is also some data obtained with the UCC28180 EVM for your reference. (No reference design with this IC)

Although UCC3817 coulbe used, you can look at the above transition mode (UCC28064/65) PFC options as your power level is 120W.

The UCC3817 has been designed for applications with 400/800 Hz line frequency inputs. But you will begin to see line current distortion around the zero crosssings. This happens because of the phase lead introduced by the input filter of the pfc. The phase lead means that the input current is attempting to change direction prior to the end of each half line cycle of the input voltage. The rectifier diodes will be reverse biased by the hold up on the DC side of the bridge when the voltage reverses and so the line current is prevented from flowing .

HI Harish, Thank you for your very prompt response. The UCC28180 is being used with TM PFC design, Would this topology is more suited for the 400Hz operation rather than CCM? I am quickly relaying on your expertise - I will definitely look into your reference design.
