ISO5852S-EP: FLT Signal

Hi All,

I am using ISO5852 isolated gate driver in my inverter application. In that I have connected all the Fault signals together with a common pull up resistor to VCC. In internal circuit diagram of IC FLT pin is directly connected to VCC, it means when we will get FLT signal high it will pull downs supply voltage or it will gives only signal to us??

Hi Vivek,

Thanks for reaching out. We would recommend using two separate 10k pullup resistor from nFLT & RDY pin to the VCC externally. Please refer to page 28 of datasheet for further details on the same:

Hi Pratik,

We already connected with seperate pull up resistor for both pins. My question is that if we have fault signal it will shout down the IC or it will give only signal?

In internal circuit of the IC it shows open drain is connected with VCC with resistor.

Hi Vivek,

In case of a fault, nFLT will go low and the IC will be output will be pulled low consequently.

Hi Pratik,

In this case we connected all the FLT signals together, It will helps to stop the output of other IC or it will stop the output for that single IC?

Hi Vivek,

I think you're referring to all the 6 IC's FLT pin being tied together. In that case if one of the IC reports FLT only that pin's output is pulled low.
