Hello,

My customer is looking for a DC/DC converter for intel AgileX FPGA core power.

It is said that the core power of Intel Agilex FPGA is a PMBus Interface, which has limitations in that core power sequence and calibration must be performed normally.

The product previously used was VISHAY SiC450ED-T1-GE3 and was used under the conditions below.

Input: 12V
Output: 0.8V
Max Current: 35A
Supported PMBus Interface

Could you please recommend the optimal TI DC/DC conerter that satisfies the above conditions?

TPS546D24A or TPS546D24S are able to meet these basic requirements.

Are there any other requirements that need to be met?

Have you done any design review on the core power requirements of Intel Agilex FPGA or have there been any cases of application to Agilex FPGA EVM?

Or is there any history of replacing VISHAY SiC450ED-T1-GE3 for the same or similar applications?

Hi Joseph,

It is said that the DC/DC power module should support related information in the 'SmartVID' item in '5. Intel Agilex 7 Power Optimization Techniques and Features' on Page-39 of the document below.

Intel Agilex 7 Power Management User Guide.pdf

Referring to page 53 of the above document, it is recommended that you refer to the SmartVID-related information and set it up when using other products as shown below.

Could you please provide a reference setting so that they can use it as a core power source for Intel AGFB014R24C2E2VR2?

Hi JH,

The TPS546D24A has been used in this application before and is able to communicate over PMBus with the FPGA.

The exact power requirements depend on the use of the FPGA.

TPS546D24A supports the VOUT_MODE and VOUT_COMMAND commands which are PMBus standard.

We don't have a reference design for the Agilex 7 currently, but we do have a few EVMs to evaluate device performance/operation.

The customer is requesting for sample setup of the TPS546D24A for intel AGFB014R24C2E2VR2.

Is it possible to provide a sample setting for the intel FPGA?
