Hi -
Customer is looking for SMBus dongle to monitor multiple PCBs. Anything we can recommend here? Here is quick block diagram to help articulate:
Alternatively they could use three separate SMBus monitors to go to central MPU , in case that opens up an options.
Originally, I sent these posts back to customer:
BQ40Z50-R2: Question for multiple BQ40Z50-R2 on same bus
BQ40Z50-R2: Question regarding multiple BQ40z50-R2 use case and sleep mode
But they advised this is not what they are looking for.
Looking for your guidance on if this type of device exists? They are looking for off-the-shelf option.
Thanks, Tyler
Hi Tyler,
I have not heard of a dongle that can connect multiple PCB SMBus lines together. I do not believe that TI produces one of those. I will keep checking.

Hi - if TI doesn't produce one, what about options from a 3rd party?

Hi Tyler,
Sorry for the delay, after checking further, would a device like the one below fit this application?

Hi Anthony,
Yes, thanks. That is a chip that may work on-board. I'll try to recommend.
However the customer is looking for a dongle - something more plug-and-play. Anything you've seen a customer use? I understand it may not be produced by TI.
Tyler
Hi Tyler,
I do not believe that there is anything directly plug and play, however there may be a PCB online that can be tailored into a dongle like application.
