TLV61070A: Use in Boost Mode

Hi Alpesh,

TLV61070 cannot output 750mA when Vin is low as 1.5V. Please view datasheet 7.3.4 Current Limit Operation to calculate the output capability. If no other requirement is needed, you can choose TPS61023.

Thanks for the details.

I have download the TLV61070A Encrypted PSpice Model from the below mentioned IC dtails page,

Run the simulation in PSPice for TI software and get the results as per attached report.

As per the simulation, I am able to run the IC from 1.5V to 3.2V range with 750mA.

Can you please check the report and guide me If I have make any mistake in simulation OR Is it OK?

Hi Alpesh,

Simulation model nis based on typical spec under 25° temperature. Considering mass production , I suggest leaving some margin for the minimum value because there'll be variation between each units.

Hi Alpesh,

As I said there'll be variation between each units and the minimum value of current limit is 1.8A. Most pieces will be able to work under your condition but there'll be pieces below this limit so we suggest leaving some margin for the 1.8A minimum value.

I just want to ask you that I will consider the current with tolerance, but the thing is that I need to output of 5V when the input will be 1.5V.
Is it possible with this IC, Right?

Note : I will consider the current tolerance at output side.
