Hi TI
TPS4H160BQPWPRQ1 driver capacitive load. HSD will latch off or clamp current output when ’inrush current over setting limit value?
I find figure30 show that Iout will closed sometimes, but Figure 38 will clamp current output(don't be shutdown). It seems conflict?
And I test my real load, test inrush current is 8A,HSD current limit is 2A, THER set high.I find Iout will be clamp at ~2A. I concern HSD will over temperature when first starting up.
Hello,
The high side switch will clamp at the user set current limit threshold until thermal shutdown is reached.
The high side switches ability to clamp at 2A with an inrush current of 8A will depend on how long the device is expected to clamp at 2A before it reaches a DC state less than 2A.
Using these values including ambient temperature and power dissipation over time, you can calculate the expected temperature rise given a certain power dissipation over time.
Best Regards,
Elizabeth
