BQ24610: BQ24610 query

Part Number: BQ24610
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24600

hi,

i look up bq24610 datasheet.below query need to be resolved,please help.

1.if my system power supply get from battery directly,our bq24610 can run normally?in this case,there will be no BATFET;then,vcc is only get power supply from  adapter,therefore,when the circuit is not in charging status,that is to say,no adapter plug in,vcc will no power supply,our bq24610 will be power off,our circuit also run normally?

2.if we refer to typical application circuit, BATFET will be aways on, that is to say,our system can directly get power supply from battery , do we need operate BATDRV pin to turn on the BATFET?even if  we turn off the BATFET,the system also can get power from battery.why we also need the BATFET.

3.can you provide   a lowest cost application circuit about bq24610 for me?such  as taking out two ACFET or BATFET;

thank for you support.

best regards.

Cickey xu.

  • Cickey,

    Please check whether BQ24600 (www.ti.com/.../bq24600.pdf) is what you are looking for.
  • i had referred to the bq24600 datasheet, and i knew if there is no BATFET, our bq24610 will be sleep mode;
    but you dont answer my second and the third question,can you give me some suggestion?
  • 2. For BQ24610, BATFET is not always on. Please refer to 9.3.8 System Power Selector on page 18 of the BQ24610 d/s for the details.
    3. If you want lower cost solution by taking out ACFET & BATFET, it is better to use BQ24600 instead. There’s no BATDRV pin. Please refer to Fig 11 Typical Application Circuit on page 21 of the BQ24600 d/s.
    Thanks!
