Hi Sir 

May LM1085 can work in Vin 24V and Vout 20V 2A condition?

I check datasheet, it should be ok. but i can't run in webench.

if LM1085 can't be work. may we have other LDO can suggest?(customer need LDO because it will power to Amp)

    Hi Bogey,

    Your described application will dissipate 8 W of power within the linear regulator. This will likely cause thermal issues with any linear regulator depending on application specific conditions such as ambient temperature and heatsinking.

    We would recommend reducing the power dissipation within your linear regulator. This can be accomplished by using a switching dcdc before the LDO in order to reduce the headroom in an efficient way or even by using two linear regulators in series in order to improve the application PSRR while spreading the heat.
