Hello
I Request a Design review for LM5176-Q1
Design Condition
VIN : 10V ~ 30V
VOUT : 12V
IOUT : 6A
And Is it available to check the input current and switching waveform during simulation?
If available, Could you provide simulations for VIN 10V, 20V and 30V?
Best Regards.
Hi Louis,
Thanks for reaching out with your questions and using the LM5176 in your design.
Overall the schematic looks good. The buck leg MOSFETs might be a little bit of a concern regarding power loses. Since the switching frequency of your design is 420kHz I suggest finding a MOSFET with lower gate charges and a slightly highe RDSON. This will greatly improve the efficiency. To estimate the efficiency of your design please use the LM5176 quick-start calculator.
The switching noise can be reducing by slowing down the rise and fall rates of the switch node. Thei can be done by adding some gate resistance to the MOSFETs adding an RC snubber.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks
Garrett
Hi Garrett
Thanks for your support
Additional inquiry,
We will Change the MOSFETs that Lower gate charges for improve the efficiency.
Could you Suggest the RC snubber for remove a switching noise?
Where should I connect the RC snubber?
Do I need to connect all four MOSFETs?
Could you simulate of RC snubber?
Best Regards.
Louis,
The RC snubber can be tuned using this application note.
I would just add the place holder on both switch node. Placing the RC snubber as close as possible across the drain and source of the low-side MOSFETs should be best.
Thanks,
Garrett
