TMDSEMU560V2STM-UE: Firmware version

Part Number: TMDSEMU560V2STM-UE

Hi team,

Can you please confirm if the newest firmware for TMDSEMU560V2STM-UE is “sd_xds560v2_firmware_2.2.0.5”? Our customer is currently looking at firmware updates but they've noticed the probe only sends 3 DHCP requests over a "short" duration of time before giving up on receiving an IP-address. Is this behavior intentional? Is it possible that the probe sends periodic DHCP-requests until it actually receives an IP-address?

Regards,
Carlo

  • Hi team,

Please share an update on this. Thank you.

  • Hello Carlo,

Can you confirm the vendor of the XDS560v2 debug probe (Spectrum Digital? Blackhawk?)? The firmware file can be different depending on the vendor

    Thanks

    ki

  • Hello Ki,

    The vendor is Spectrum Digital.

  • I believe 2.2.0.5 is the latest version of the firmware for the Spectrum Digital XDS560v2 probes.

    As for the request:

Is it possible that the probe sends periodic DHCP-requests until it actually receives an IP-address?

Spectrum Digital is no longer in business so I would need to determine which group now maintains the firmware for the probe and make the request to them.

I will keep you posted of my progress.

    Thanks

    ki

  • We are investigating if a change can be made to the firmware to support the request. However it is unlikely that we will be able to implement this any time soon. It may be better to assign a static IP address to the probe to work around the current limitation.

  • Hello Ki,

According to our customer, using a Static IP will not solve their issue, since the probe has to send periodic DHCP-requests. Would it be possible to get further support at a firmware level?

They have investigated most workarounds such as static IP and concluded that only the following features may solve the issue, it is ordered according to the best solution where no.3 is not a preferred solution.

    1. Probe periodically sends DHCP-request until IP is acquired.
    2. Probe supports IEEE 802.1x certificates (EAP-TLS).
    3. Probe sends gratuitous arp when configured with static IP

Thank you for your continuous guidance.

    Carlo

I will need to discuss this with engineering. I will keep you posted on any updates I receive.

    Thanks

We have discussed this with engineering and exploring some options. Note that there will not be any immediate resolution. I apologize for that and provide the proper expectation.

  • Thank you Ki, I'll let our customer know about this.
