Hi,
We have received a question from one of our customers.
They are trying to use WebGL 1.0 with AM4378 SDK 07_03_00_005.
I have not been able to confirm if this is browser dependent or SGX-530 dependent.

Kouji Nishigata

Hello Kouji,
I believe it's a browser dependency and you could test webgl support for you browser using the following link: https://get.webgl.org/.

Hi, Krunal
The customer has checked the behavior of WebGL and it crashes on the following sites, including the one you told us about.
www.khronos.org/.../webgl-conformance-tests.html,
https://www.wirple.com/bmark/
threejs.org/.../webgl_performance_nodes.html
This was not only with their custom browser, but also with the matrix browser included in the SDK.
In the custom browser, the crash was preceded by the message "PVR:(Error): ComputeFrameBufferCompleteness: Unknown texture format [0, ]".
However, in a custom browser, if they set the WebGL depth/stencil attribute to false, the crash does not occur!
Can you tell me what the problem is with this?

Kouji Nishigata
Hello Kouji,
Unfortunately, we have not tested WebGL on AM4378 but I can bring up the above behavior with our internal team.

Krunal
Hi, Krunal
Thanks for the reply.
If possible, it would be helpful if you could check the behavior and see if there are any errors.
I have no idea if it is something that can be fixed by modifying the SDK or if it is something that requires changes to WebGL itself.
We don't even know what the "depth/stencil attribute" setting means, so we haven't been able to determine that.

Hello Kouji,
Based on my internal discussion, we have not tested webgl on SGX530 and is not supported usecase.

Hi,Krunal
Thanks for the answer.
Is this a definite issue?
Is there any problem in answering to the customer that "WebGL does not seem to be supported in Linux on SGX530 (AM437x), so this may happen"?
Best Regards,
Kouji Nishigata
Hi Kouji,
There could be a possibility that few extensions are missing and they need to be enabled on SGX530 to make WebGL functional. However, TI cannot provide any support and the customer would need to work with a third party.

Krunal
