SM320C6678-HIREL has SGMII, and operates under -55C, I need to have a SGMII PHY operates under -55C, could you help me to find one? or are there SGMII to RGMII converter and RGMII PHY that operate under -55C?

Here are the two approaches, operating temperature under -55C

1. SM320C6678-HIREL -> SGMII PHY -> RJ45

2. SM320C6678-HIREL -> SGMII to RGMII converter -> RGMII PHY -> RJ45

Hi Kang,

I do not believe we have any PHYs that can operate lower than -55C.

What kind of application would this be for?

Hi Alvaro,

This is for Satcom Terminal Equipment for aircraft, we have operating temperature range requirement from -55C to 125C, the users only have gigabit ethernet to know if the terminal is alive. We at least to have ethernet to run at slower speed during cold start -55C, and then be able to run gigabit ethernet when temperature rises for example -40C or -30C. Is there any solutions that TI can provide? we are also looking for ARM based microprocessor which can replace NXP microprocessor iMx8M plus (MIMX8ML4CVNKZAB) with operating temperature range -55C to 125C.

Hi Kang,

We have the DP83561: https://www.ti.com/product/DP83561-SP

It meets your -55C requirement but it does not have SGMII.

We also have the DP83869: https://www.ti.com/product/DP83869HM

It has SGMII but does not meet the -55C requirement. (-40 - 125C)

I am not aware of any SGMII to RGMII converters that we produce.
