Hi TI DSP Champs

Can you please share the DSP roadmap or device comparison table for TMS320C6674, C6671, C6672?

A customer would like to figure out the difference btw devices to select the alternative devices of C6674 what they currently use.

TMS320C6674ACYPA (current use)

TMS320C6671ACYPA (alternatives 1)

TMS320C6672ACYPA (alternatives 2)

I need the details of difference and pin to pin compatibility check.

Also I need to know if S/W change is required when the device is changed from C6674 to C6671/2.

Hello,

Please see the corresponding data sheets. These devices have 4, 2 and 1 DSP cores, respectively.

It's the same RTOS SDK used for all the devices so it'll be very similar.

I understand that the number of cores is different from the datasheet. And can you check before deciding whether a device-dependent code change is necessary?
And is there any information that has been confirmed whether C6674, 6672 and 6671 are Pin to Pin compatible? Do I have to check each one through DATASHEET?

This question makes it difficult to verify development because the existing device is looking for a replacement for the part that is already being produced due to the Shortage issue.
If Pin-to-Pin compatibility and code correction are minimized, the customer will choose between C6742 and C6741, and therefore requested confirmation of the TI.

Yes, it'd be good to check the datasheet and they are all in the same package so it will be pin-to-pin compatible. It's not very hard to check from the datasheets.

It will be very minimal code development for the number of DSP cores so it's straightforward to move up or down the number of DSP cores.

The key question is if they use all 4 DSP cores at full performance, how would they scale down to a device with feweer nymber of cores? Yoiu should consider C6678 with 8 DSP cores.
