PROCESSOR-SDK-AM62X: How to run am62-mcu-r5f0_0-fw under kernel

Hello TI team:

I'm a engineer of valeo, I'm currently developing a project based on the am62x chip. At present, we need to do development work based on the am62x R5 core. I got the mcu-sdk(mcu_plus_sdk_am62x_08_05_00_15) and imported to CCS. I compiled an image of am62-mcu-r5f0_0-fw and put it in the /lib/firmware path. then I run the command echo start > /sys/class/remoteproc0/state，but I didn't find that the r5 image was executed.

Does the R5 FW image work like this? can you support me ?

Hello fan,

We do not support AM62x R5F development in SDK 8.5. Please see the direct message I sent you for more details.

The R5F is running the device manager code for the processor (DMSC or DM firmware). So the R5F core is actually brought up by the ROM, before uboot has even started. Please see this section of the Uboot documentation for more information about the boot process:

Because the R5F is running the DM firmware, the Linux RemoteProc driver cannot load firmware into the R5, or stop the R5 with "echo stop".

I just want to figure out what tools I need to use and how to burn the image compiled by myself to run on the r5 core.

If you already have the compiled r5 image, that same U-Boot document I pointed to should discuss how to get the r5f binary into the right SPL format:
