AM6442: Downgrade Cgroup version

Part Number: AM6442

Hi

On our hardware based on AM6442 we want to use cgroup in version 1. Here I found that it is possible to switch between cgroup version by adding kernel parameter to cmdline (in include/configs/am64x_evm.h):

systemd.unified_cgroup_hierarchy=0

But unfortunately this isn't working with ti kernel.

So am I setting from kernel parameter or there is other way to force using cgroup v1?

  • Hi Jakub,

    I am not an expert on cgroup, but with "systemd.unified_cgroup_hierarchy=1", command 'mount | grep cgroup' prints

    Fullscreen
    1
    2
    3
    root@am62xx-evm:~# mount | grep cgroup
    cgroup2 on /sys/fs/cgroup type cgroup2 (rw,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,nsdelegate,memory_recursiveprot)
    root@am62xx-evm:~#
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    with "systemd.unified_cgroup_hierarchy=0", command 'mount | grep cgroup' prints

    Fullscreen

    You can see all the cgroups, such as cpuset, memory, pids, etc, are not using v2.
