Hi TI teams

I would like to ask what is the timer frequency of the MCU TIMER on the AM62P5 development board?Looking forward to your reply.

        Thanks

  • Hi Li,

Thanks for reaching out on the TI E2E Support forum.

Please expect responses in few business days.

  • Greetings Li,

I would highly encourage you to go through the clock tree tool to figure out frequency of not just Timer but other modules as well.

For example, the MCU Timer has two clock sources and the primary/default one being HF0SC0.

So end of the day for MCU Timers the ICLK is 100 MHz and FCLK is 25 MHz.

A little about ICLK and FCLK:

    "

The ICLK is used by the core to interface with the peripherals (i.e register writes) while the FCLK is used for carrying out the timing functions of the peripherals (i.e. communication protocols and data transfers).

    "

I hope this clarifies and answers your doubt.

    Vaibhav

  • Hi Li,

I would also like to put out in another response here, on how to reach the clock tree tool.

So you would need to head to dev.ti.com/sysconfig and then select the following combination from the dropdown list and hit start.

This should collectively answer your doubts on the frequency of MCU Timers.

    Regards,

    Vaibhav
