CCSTUDIO: CCS 12.7.1 - post update (reupdate) problem - ARM compiler tools mismatch

CCS 12.7.1 comes with ARM compiler 20.2.7. Are you trying to install 20.2.6 using the Update Manager?

 the error occurs when just checking for updates.

It looks like the 12.7.1 installation (which was upgraded from 12.7.0) is thinking that the ARM Compiler Tools 20.2.6 is the baseline as opposed to ARM Compiler Tools 20.2.7.

Do I need to do a clean reinstall of CCS 12.7.1 as the "workaround" ?

Oh, I see, you did an update from 12.7.0 to 12.7.1. Even then, 12.7.0 also comes with 20.2.7 so I'm not sure what is going on there. Looks like a bug. I will need to see if I can reproduce that.

It looks like the CCS Update Manager detects a ARM cgt 20.2.7 update for both CCS 12.7.0 and CCS 12.7.1 even though both come with that version of the compiler. However if I accept the update, the update manager goes through the motions but appears to not really do anything. However the next time I check for updates, the 20.2.7 update is no longer listed. 

I don't see any update for 20.2.6. Looks like you are on Linux so it could be related to that.

Ki: I just replicated the same scenario of ARM Compiler Tools 20.2.6 vs. 20.2.7 (with .7 already being there) on Windows 10 with CCS 12.7.1. Please advise.

Ki could this setting be a problem?

We will take a look. This should not be an issue in regards to using CCS.

I don't see any issue in the screenshot. It is showing all available ARM compiler versions

Kai - will that compiler team change trigger a maintenance release 12.7.2 of CCS?

BTW, I had not tried to see if your latest CCS Theia has this issue or not.

No. I believe the fix is done with the compiler package itself.

CCS Theia uses a different update mechanism.  

Ki - has the compiler team committed to giving a forecast to correct this repackaging?

Will the presence of this error prevent other updates detected by CCS 12.7.1 from being installed?
