AM6441: Query on USB interface of AM64x in slave mode

Part Number: AM6441

Tool/software:

Hello Team

I want to use USB in device (slave) mode on AM64x.

If we are going to use AM64x USB in slave mode always, Is it necessary to use Vbus pin on the chip? Should it be connected to VCC coming from USB connector (using voltage divider) or can it be left open?

Note: The SoC will be powered using a separate power supply and not from the USB Host port.

Thanks

Amey

  • Hello Amey,

    Thank you for the query.

When the USB is interfaced as device, USB VBUS is recommended to be connected.

Recommend following the below section of the data sheet

    9.2.3 USB VBUS Design Guidelines

It is recommended to connect the VBUS voltage divider to the switch voltage connected to the USB connector.
