Tool/software:

My customer want to boot Linux from parallel NAND connected to GPMC.

In ti-u-boot code, there is nand.env. but I think this code is support only managed NAND (e.g. OSPI)

Yes, the nand.env contains configurations related to OSPI NAND.

GPMC NAND is supported on AM64x and AM62x LP boards.

Regular SK cannot be interfaced to GPMC NAND card. so the support is on LP SK.

Is there anything document about GPMC NAND Linux boot (SPL boot, not using SBL) for SK-AM62-LP?

And do you have NAND Flash part number of tested with SK-AM62-LP and Linux BSP/drivers?

The GPMC NAND flash part tested with AM62x-LP are "mt29f1g08abaeawp" and "mt29f4g08abafa"

I think the .backup partition is option for user.

So It not must need. (Is this correct?)

I think AM335x is try boot from .backup 4 times (e.g. first try reading NAND.SPL. if failure, second try reading NAND.SPL.backup1. if failure NAND.SPL.backup2,...NAND.SPL.backup3. if failure, trying boot next hardware) .

Is this same to AM6x?

So Is max of .backup partition 4 (last :NAND.tiboot3.backup3)?

Could you let me know the address of backup2 and backup3?

Hi,

There is only one backup region provided for tiboot3.bin in AM6x devices.
Could you share the source code of AM335x where you see 4 backups?
