Hi,

We tested the USB host mode functionality using the lsusb library. While the application shows that data is being sent, we are unable to access the data on a USB device when connected to a personal PC for verification.

Test Summary:

Tested Feature: USB Host Mode
Tool Used: lsusb library
Observation: USB Host Mode is able to send data, but the sent data cannot be accessed on a personal PC when verified using a USB device.

Query:

Does the USB host mode support only booting, or does it also support data transfer from the device to another USB device?

Please provide guidance on resolving the data access issue and clarify the capabilities of the USB host mode regarding booting and data transfer.

The AM62x USB host is the same as any other USB host, it supports sending/receiving to/from attached USB devices too.

lsusb is a Linux command, not a library. Please elaborate your USB user case and the problems.

Hi Bin Liu,

We have integrated lsusb APIs into our custom application to facilitate sending and receiving data between the host and the USB device.Despite the successful sending operation indicated by our application, no data is found on the USB device when checked on a local PC.The boot mode switch is currently set to USB Host mode support.Could the issue be related to our application implementation, the physical connection, or the boot mode settings?

Please provide guidance on resolving the data storage issue and clarify the correct boot mode switch settings for supporting both booting and data transfer functionalities.

Is the USB device a USB thumb drive? If so, instead of your application, can you mount the thumb drive and copy files to it on the EVM, then umount the thumb drive and check it on another PC?

I encountered an issue while attempting to mount an NTFS formatted USB thumb drive on my EVM. When I tried to mount it using the command mount /dev/sda /mnt/usb, I received the error message: "mount: /mnt/usb: unknown filesystem type 'ntfs'."
