AM6442: AM64x & AM24x Vcore/GPIO interrupts & Sercoss III

Part Number: AM6442
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PROFIBUS

Tool/software:

 Hi champs,

Coud you have a look and provide answers to the here below questions about AM24x ad AM64x ?

Q1/ AM64x can operate with Vcore 0.75V or 0.85V while AM243x is limited to 0.85V only, is there any explanation of this limitation on AM243x ?

Q2/ Can you indicate the core voltage used for the POH provided on AM64x datasheet ? And is there a simple way to estimate the consequences on POH for those 2 Vcore options ?

Q3/ Is it possible to generate an interrupt from any GPIO or is it dedicated to certain pins ?

Q4/ We have been able to find PRU-ICSSG based firmware datasheet for EtherCAT slave (see attached file), Profibus slave, Profinet IRT slave and Ethernet IP. What about PRU-ICSS Sercos III firmware datasheet? Where could we find it or any piece of information?

Thank you !

Best regards,

Guillaume

  • Hi Guillaume, I will send your first 3 questions to our HW experts. For Q4, the answer is that we don't currently support it.

    thank you,

    Paula

  • 1) AM243x was design to support a lower cost power management solution by only requiring a single core power source.

    2) The AM64x POH values are defined for both core operating voltages. We do not define different POH values for the two core voltage options.

    3) I will need to research the answer to this question but seem to recall the GPIO module allows any GPIO input to be configured as an interrupt source. However, there may be a maximum number than can be routed through the GPIO module at the same time.

    4) Paula answered this question.

    Regards,
    Paul

  • With respect to your question about using GPIOs as interrupt inputs. Please refer to the "Interrupt and Event Generation" section in the "General-Purpose Interface (GPIO)" chapter of the TRM, where I found the following statement.

Each GPIO pin (GPj) can be configured to generate a host CPU interrupt (GPINTj) or a synchronization event to the DMA (GPINTj)

    Paul

You can contact Cannon Automata, https://www.cannon-automata.com/contacts/ to ask about a solution on AM64x/AM243x for SERCOS III.
