J722SXH01EVM: How to debug the CSI2RX subsystem?

Hi,

We are facing an issue using the J722SXH01EVM board: our camera works with the SDK9 but not with SDK10, where there is no frame or only empty frames transmitted to the user space AND there is no kernel error which could give us any indication about what went wrong. In order to check if the image data is accepted and correctly parsed by the CSI2RX subsystem, we need to know how to debug the subsystem (i.e. Cadence DPHY, Cadence CSI2RX bridge, TI CSI2RX DMA wrapper (aka the SHIM layer)).

I suppose there is a list of registers in the CSI2RX subsystem that holds status/error information about frame parsing. Unfortunately I couldn't find any documentation (including the Technical Reference Manual) about the these registers regarding their meaning on each bit and their addresses which we can access to. So, is it possible for users to access these registers? If so, could you please guide us to the correct docu? If not, what would be the correct way to debug the CSI2RX subsystem?

You could try the following command (replace -d 3 with -d /dev/videoX where X is the number of the video device that you want to use):

You need to make sure that the Pixel Format is correct, as this influences the data ID that the CSI2RX is looking for.
