Tool/software:
Hi,
I have a custom board based on SK-AM62. Based on the console output(attached below), it seems DDR4 is not initialized and booting stop there. I have followed the thread below which had similar issue for AM64x device.
I applied the patch file given in the thread. But I dont see any DDR4 traning happening. Console output stil remains same as below.
U-Boot SPL 2021.01-00001-ga347ec164e-dirty (May 07 2024 - 13:33:51 +0530)
SYSFW ABI: 3.1 (firmware rev 0x0008 '8.6.4--v08.06.04 (Chill Capybar')
SPL initial stack usage: 13384 bytes
Please find the schematic attached for your reference. I have probed DDR_RESET and CKE signal and that looks fine too. Please give me a guidance to debug this issue. Also, I have a question that, this patch is generic for all am6xx device or only AM64x device?
Thanks,
siva.
Hi Siva,
First of all, is there any reason you still use SDK8.6 in your new project, but not the latest SDK10.0? it is highly recommended to migrate to SDk10.0 due to the PLL fix.
By the way, your post under your signature doesn't look normal. Were you trying to attach any additional information? Please edit your post to correct it.
Hi Bin,
We started moving to 9.2 SDk. But we are in transistion phase.Right now we depend on 8.6. I have attached schematics, ddr_reset scope capture. Apart from that I need a guidance to debug this issue further. I am seeking help to enable some debug flag to find out what causes DDR4 to fail. Please let know.
thanks,
siva.
Hi Siva,
Please move to SDK10.0 instead of 9.2 for the PLL fix.
Meanwhile I am routing your query to our DDR expert for comments.
Hi Bin,
Waiting for DDR expert's comments. Basically we got lost here and needed guidance.
thanks,
siva.
this looks to be the same issue: https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1421515/am625-boot-issue-in-spl-stage
Let's keep the same issue on one ticket to help focus the debug.

James
