Tool/software:
Hello, We are evaluating your SK-AM69 platform. I am working with your Jacinto TDA4/DRA8 platform for a different project (just starting on this project). On the Jacinto, on the R Cores we run safeRTOS (freeRTOS) and on the A Cores we run TI's Arago Yocto linux OS., and we can have independent OS images running on each individual core as I understood. i.e., on each R Core can have an RTOS with its own config running, and on each A Core their own OSes each doing their own thing as we designed. (Rather then 1 RTOS managing/using all R Cores, and 1 OS managing/using all A Cores) Does this sound like a correct understanding?
I saw on the SK-AM69 there are > 1 A72 cores as well. Is it also TI's Arago linux that is available for this platform? And can we also have > 1 Arago linux running individually (with their own configurations) on each core, or is it only 1 linux OS that is used to manage all the A72 cores on the platform? Thank you.
Hi Tammy,
Your understanding is correct, it is possible to have different OS running on individual cores through jailhouse. However, we no longer provide support for this. You would have to put in the work to enable this.
The default Arago images run one instance of Linux on all of the A cores.
Best,
Jared
Hi Jared, Thank you. Do you mean you do not have support for this just for the SK-AM69 or is it for all your platforms with the A Cores that run Arago? Thank you, Tammy
Hi Tammy,
All platforms. We used to support jailhouse but descoped it in 7.1 (release note).
Best,
Jared
