C6416 DSK interfacing external ADC/DAC through 5-6 card

Hi,

I am using a C6416 DSK board from Spectrum to develop a real time program. I cannot use the onboard AIC23 codec since I need to work with very low frequencies and its cutoff is 10Hz. I have a 5-6 interface card plugged on the DSK system, with the ADS1174 and the DAC8554 modules that provide the input and output for my signals. The problem is that I haven´t found much information about how to interface the DSK and the ADC/DAC through the 5-6 board.

Any references where I could have a look at?. A piece of code to start with would be very useful as well.

Ivan,

You can program the McBSP on the device to interface C6416 with ADS1174. A good starting point for you would be the hardware designers users guide that you can find here

Under Section Applications reports on McBSP you will find useful documents, many of which will have simple code included in the report.

PS: The hyperlinks in the pdf may not be working so I would recommend searching for the docs using the lit number. For eg interfacing McBSP with VBAP can be found using lit number SPRA489.
