Hello,
I just purchased a cooling set for my LCDK which was originally supposed to be mounted on the rasperry pi. It is a set of three cooling hats. One fitting the omap and the other two cooling hats could fit U8 or U13. I'm not sure where to place the two small cooling units now.
Can you tell me, which ICs are well known to produce high heatings that could be cooled down by these units. I just want to make sure the board can work 24/7 without temperature issues.
Regards
Benjamin
Hi Benjamin,
You can place those small cooling units in the voltage regulators and the PMIC device if you want.
U1, U2 & U3
But basically you need to do the thermal analysis for the entire board and the devices presented on it and its usage ,power consumption, Junction and the ambient temperature needs to be considered.
