What is the purpose of the PridID overlapping in the Hyperlink address?

I've readen that different PrivId are associated to different Cores so what is the reason?

Is for associate different memory segment in Rx device to different cores in Tx device?

And what's the pourpose of the PrivID Mapping Table?
it returns a PrivID value based on PrivID overlapped in the address, but why?

Hi Henry,

A1. PrivID overlapping is used for Address Translation in the Hyperlink. Please refer the Figure 2-11 "Address Translation" on Hyperlink user guide SPRUGW8 (http://www.ti.com/lit/sprugw8).

A2 & A4. The DSP and each of the system masters on the device are all assigned a privilege ID. It is only possible to specify. whether memory pages are locally or globally accessible. Please refer the Table 7-51 "Privilege ID Settings" on data manual SPRS689D (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tms320c6670.pdf).

A3. yes

A5. Refer section 2.7.4.2.3 Example of Address Translation on Hyperlink user guide(SPRUGW8).

Thanks, but... I still don't understand the pourpose of the PrivID swap

For example why should i transmit from the 1st DSP some Hyperlink data with associated PrivID = 0 (That's Core 0 's PrivID, right?) and in the 2nd dsp associate a PrivID = 3?

Hi Henry,

The PRIVID table have 16 entries; Each entry can be set individually to different values. The possible PRIVID value is 0 to 15. The RxPrividSel field determines which portion of the incoming address determines the index to the PrivID table.

My question was different...

What is the pourpose of the PrivID swap using the PrivID table?

What is the pourpose of sending data with a certain PrivID (for example 0) and use a different PrivID in the second DSP (For example 7)?

Hasn't the Hyperlink already a dedicated PrivID?

Hi Henry,

If you swap the PrivID values at PrivID lookup table means Local and Remote PrivID are Non transparent.

Rx (Ingress) address translation is more complex than Tx (egress) address translation. Different portions of the address can be selected to remap the address, PRIVID, and security fields.

Transmitter Overlay PrivID value (for example 0) is receiver PrivID index, the receiver PrivID value is selected form PrivID lookup table at the position specified by receiver PrivID index.

Core Pac and peripheral(PCIe, SRIO, Hyperlink,..) PrivID's are different. HyperlinkTx/Rx PrivID's are used for Tx/Rx address translation purpose only.

Quick question here: What is the RX address? Is it starting from hyperlink base? (in my case 0x40000000)
