For automatic quality inspection of products moving on conveyor belt in a production line, I need to find image processing reference design. The objects for which quality inspection is to be done are larger in size with distinct features. the size of objects is 3ft x 1ft in size and may not require high resolution camera (my assumption). I need a reference design that provides lighting control, Camera with up to 4MP, Local processing within processing unit and feature comparison (Linux based). The system should capture minimum 30fps. Also it should be able to analyze data sooner as product flow rate is 2 objects per second.
It should possibly have edge detection and feature detection examples/test codes.
I wish to count objects, compare them with specific size and also want to identify distinct features on the objects for quality purposes. This design has to be low power and cost sensitive. Could you please suggest best option of reference design to begin with and targeted TI processor series for such application/s?
