Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR2944, DCA1000EVM
I am encountering the exact same issue, I have tried using the FTDI ports for RS232 connectivity with a baud rate of 115200 as suggested but still not able to connect to the device.

Hi Deepan,
Can you check with the baud rate as 921600.

Shruti
Hi Deepan,
Can you check the connectivity with any other 2944 EVM if you have any.

Shruti
Hi Deepan,
Can you check with all the com ports once with the baud rate as 921600.

Hello,
Can you please confirm you also have the 12V supply connected? Can you share an image of which LEDs are illuminated on your board?

Adrian
Hello,
It looks like FTDI_NSUP LED is not on. This indicates that the FTDI chip is not receiving the 3.3V supply from the USB. Is your USB outputting 5V as expected?
Can you please try measuring the two below nodes with a DMM and see if you can measure 5V and 3.3V respectively?
Regards,
Adrian
Hello,
By markings I meant the package markings on top of the AWR device, but I can already see them in your latest photo. I wanted to confirm that this is a GP device and not a secure device.
To be honest, I cannot see anything wrong in your setup.
Are you able to run the OOB demo successfully? If so, this would maybe indicate that the issue is with the FTDI chip on the board.
Regards,
Adrian
Vivek Dham The SOP jumpers should not matter, the SOP mode will get set by the FTDI when the ar1.SOPControl(2) is called.

Adrian
Hi Vivek,
I have attempted to change the SOP mode as suggested however mmwave studio said that the SOP mode has been set via the jumpers, we are able to set the mode to SOP2 via the jumper so how can we proceed further ?

Deepan
Hello Deepan,
Based on this discussion it seems like your board may have some sort of hardware malfunction. Please go through the return process below to get it replaced and you can reference this thread if requested.

When you receive the new board, please make sure to only use it in an ESD safe environment with ESD wrist strap connected. These boards are sensitive to ESD and it is not uncommon for them to get damaged and stop working if handled in an ESD prone environment.
