Issue Report: RS232 Connection Not Detected in mmWave Studio
Product: DCA1000EVM + AWR1843BOOST
Software Version: [mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00_win32]
Operating System: [64-bit operating system, x64-based processor]
Description of the Issue:
After completing all installation steps and following the setup process for the DCA1000EVM and AWR1843BOOST, I am unable to see the RS232 connection in mmWave Studio. The device does not appear in the connection options, preventing me from proceeding with my application.
Steps Taken:
1. Installed mmWave Studio: Followed the installation instructions from the official documentation.
2. Connected Hardware: Ensured that the DCA1000EVM and AWR1843BOOST are properly connected via RS232.
3. Checked Power Supply: Verified that both devices are powered on and functioning.
4. Driver Installation: Installed necessary drivers for the RS232 interface.
5. Device Manager Check: Confirmed that the RS232 port is recognized in the Device Manager (Windows).
6. COM Port Settings: Ensured that the correct COM port settings are selected in mmWave Studio.
Expected Behavior:
The RS232 connection should be visible in mmWave Studio, allowing me to select the device for communication.
Actual Behavior:
The RS232 connection does not appear in the connection options in mmWave Studio.
Additional Information:
- Attached screenshots of the Device Manager showing the RS232 port.
Request for Assistance:
I would appreciate any guidance on troubleshooting this issue. If there are additional steps I might have missed or specific settings that need to be configured, please let me know.
if possible we can have the virtual session for debugging , or provide us some solution for this problem.......
Thank you for your help!

After restarting my PC, I tried to connect to the RS232, but there was no progress. I also ran the GUI as an administrator
Are you able to still able to see the COM ports on the device manager?
On Studio, are you able to see the COM ports for UART under RS232?
If not, can you still try to send a lua command to connect to the COM port for UART (COM34)?

yes i can able to see the COM port under RS232
Hi
Can you double check your SOP status and power cycle your boards?
When connecting AWR1843 to DCA1000, SOP[2:0] should be "011", your setup shows as "100".
Thanks
