MMWCAS-DSP-EVM: Issue with Ethernet Connection for mmwcas-rf-evm and mmwcas-dsp-evm Setup

Part Number: MMWCAS-DSP-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWCAS-RF-EVM

Tool/software:

I'm trying to obtain raw data using the mmwcas-rf-evm and mmwcas-dsp-evm, and I'm following Chapter 4 of the user's guide. The radar setup is as follows:

  1. Connect RF-DSP
  2. Connect mini-USB to J16 → I confirmed that two USB serial ports are detected.
  3. Connect Ethernet to the PC

The setup diagram is shown below.

However, when setting the PC's static IP in section 4.1, it shows "Network cable unplugged" in the Ethernet options, as seen in the image below.

This occurs in both scenarios:

  1. PC-Ethernet-EVM
  2. PC-Ethernet

In both cases, it appears that the Ethernet connection is not recognized by the DSP-EVM.

Additionally, I have set the Ethernet IPv4 on the PC according to the user guide's instructions to 192.168.33.30 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.

How can I resolve this issue? Are there any additional resources or references I can consult?

  • Hello,

Could you try bypassing the middle connector and directly connect the ethernet cable to the PC?

    Regards,

    Aydin

  • I tried the methods you suggested to connect to another PC, but it still didn't work. Are there any other options?

  • Hello,

Could you please share a snapshot of the bottom board when it is powered on? or could you check if the ENET 2.5 PG LED is on?

    Regards,

    Aydin

  • The LED you mentioned lights up as shown in the picture, but the Ethernet connection is still not established. Was it supposed to connect directly to the computer and DSP board? I've tried adjusting the IP settings, but it still doesn't work. How can I resolve this issue?

  • The board seems to be fine. Following the mmwave_studio_cascade_user_guide.pdf, are you able to get to section 7.3? If so, could you try to ping and connect and update here what you get in the studio output logs.

    Regards,

    Aydin

  • I tried version 7.3, but I'm getting the following error.
